Project introduction:

The new Global tower stands near Huaxia Road in the core area of Zhujiang New Town, Guangzhou.It is the modern office building that is composed by main tower and skirt building.

The new Gotone Tower is invested by well-known state-owned enterprises (non-construction) in Zhujiang New Town. It is positioned as one of the landmark buildings in Guangzhou and Zhujiang New Town. The Gotone building have 3 floors underground, 37 floors above ground, mainly consists of function areas, such as office management, communications production, exhibition hall, sports ground and the central courtyard. Building land covers about 16,640 square meters. It is the operational heart of China Mobile in Guangdong Province and the communications support command center for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games.

To comply with the super grade of its super high office building, its interior use high-grade materials. These building are required high related facilities, especially as a whole of global central control system, must be a strong and stable system, therefore, a new Globa lBuilding chose the Crestron Central Control System. At present, it is the highest grade, the most mature technology, the most complete functions, the most widely use, is to realize the office system of centralized control and intelligent management of various electronic equipment and human manipulation.

As the communication support and command center of the 2010 Asian games,Global Tower advocates a low-carbon and environment-friendly working mode, and applies various new technologies, new materials and new technologies to every detail of the building. The building has a complete set of functions, and integrates ecological, humanized, intelligent, energy-saving and environmental protection.

Rigid frame structural system

• In rigid frame structure, beams and columns are constructed monolithically to withstand moments imposed due to loads.
• The lateral stiffness of a rigid frame depends on the bending stiffness of the columns, girders and connections in-plane
• It is suitable for reinforced concrete buildings.
• It may be used in steel construction as well, but the connections will be costly.
• One of the advantages of rigid frames is the likelihood of planning and fitting of windows due to open rectangular arrangement.
• Members of rigid frame system withstand bending moment, shear force, and axial loads.
• 20 to 25 storey buildings can be constructed using rigid frame system.
• Advantages of rigid frame include ease of construction, labors can learn construction skills easily, construct rapidly, and can be designed economically.
• Maximum beam span is 12.2m and larger span beams would suffer lateral deflection.
• A disadvantage is that the self-weight is resisted by the action from rigid frames.
• Finally, Burj Al Khalifa which is the tallest structure in the world is constructed using rigid frame system.
